It was founded in September 10,1970 by the KYOSHO TOMY group in Tokyo, Japan, and the first model produced is the 1970 Nissan Bluebird SSS Coupe, followed along with the Toyota 2000GT, last produced in 1981, the Nissan 240ZX, last produced in 1976, the Toyota Corona 1900HD, last produced in 1974, the Honda 1300R Sports coupe, which was last produced in 1975, the Toyota Crown Deluxe, last produced in 1978, and the shortest lived- one, the Toyota Crown De Luxe Police Car, which was last produced in 1972. These cars were scaled at a scale from 1/60 to 1/64, at start, to compete with the brands Diapet, Cherica, Matchbox, and Hot Wheels, but, until 1975, Tomica added larger vehicles, such as trucks and buses, which are scaled at a scale of 1/110 or even more.
